GSA CONTRACT AWARD - SERVICES INTRODUCTION

Environmental Management Associates, Inc. (EMA) has been awarded a General Services Administration Contract (5 years) for Environmental Services. EMA is offering under this contract a new "Advanced Field Screening System" (AFSS) * utilizing an 'Expedited Site Characterization' technique (ASTM 6235-98a) for Remedial Investigations & Feasibility Studies. This technique will also be used for 'Brownfields' Investigations, Environmental Property Transfer Investigations or for 'pre-screening' possibly contaminated sites to determine remediation costs and / or property asset value, viability and marketability.

Normally, sub-surface soil and groundwater contamination at a 5 acre site can be characterized and delineated within 5 days at a cost of $2,500 (1) per day utilizing this System. This is a very rapid and cost effective technique which has been employed by EMA at Industrial, Commercial, Military and Government facilities. The EMA technique condenses the normal period of time required to complete a site assessment by utilizing innovative sampling procedures and an on-site laboratory that produces 'real time' data to drive the subsequent sampling and investigation.

The EMA "AFSS" technique employs our 66DT Tracked Geoprobe Direct Push & Auger unit for sample acquisition and to simultaneously install long term monitoring, extraction, injection or remediation points. The EMA on-site Mobile Laboratory provides immediate analysis for soil, soil gas and groundwater samples for a wide range of constituents: Volatile Organic Compounds, Metals, TPH, PCB's and PAH's. Data is also collected from other relevant systems such as Immunoassays and hand held instrumentation for pre-screening laboratory samples.
